TRIBULATION ANNOUNCES NORTH AMERICAN TOUR THIS OCTOBER/NOVEMBER 2015

This October/November, Sweden's TRIBULATION will return to North America for their first stateside run in support of their recently released new album, The Children Of The Night. DEAFHEAVEN will also join the band on the trek (plus ENVY on select dates), making this one tour not to be missed!

EARTH PREPARES FOR FESTIVALS, DATES WITH TRUE WIDOW AND MORE

Seattle's EARTH will begin their latest round of live actions for 2015 in less than two weeks, with performances scheduled at Levitation (formerly known as Austin Psych Fest), Psycho California and more throughout May, including a run with support from True Widow.

Next week, EARTH heads south, confirmed as one of the many performers set to play at Levitation, in Austin, Texas. The eighth annual installation of the psyche fest gathering runs from May 8th through 10th, with EARTH joining the likes of The 13th Floor Elevators, The Flaming Lips, The Jesus And Mary Chain, Primal Scream, Spiritualized, Lightning Bolt, The Sword and countless more at Carson Creek Ranch. Following the festival, the band hits the Southwest for four days with support from True Widow, running through Albuquerque, Tucson, Phoenix and Pioneertown from May 11th through 14th. Saturday the 16th sees EARTH at the three-day Psycho California festival in Santa Ana, performing Saturday, May 16th with Sleep, Kylesa, Pallbearer, Dead Meadow, Subrosa, Sourvein, Eagle Twin, True Widow and many others.

YOB: PORTLAND DOOM KINGS KICK OFF TOUR!

Portland's most revered doom bringers, YOB, will return to the stage tomorrow for a mammoth North American run. TRUE WIDOW ANNOUNCE US TOUR DATES

Texan trio, TRUE WIDOW have confirmed a series of tour dates this May, including shows with Earth and an appearance at Psycho California alongside Sleep, Pentagram, Cult of Luna and many others. The dates kick off May 11th in Albuquerque, NM and run through May 24th in Norman, OK. A complete listing is available below. 

TRUE WIDOW released their latest album, Circumambulation, via Relapse Records in 2013. The album of hypnotic, heavy-but-melodic shoegaze was recorded at The Echo Lab in Argyle, Texas with the band reuniting with producer Matt Pence (Yuck, Jay Farrar). IDES OF GEMINI ANNOUNCES US LIVE RITUALS WITH MOUNTAIN GOATS

West Coast atmospheric sound conjurors, IDES OF GEMINI, will bring their sonic rituals to the stage this Spring supporting indie folk rock trio, Mountain Goats. Slated to commence on April 2nd, 2015 in Nashville, Tennessee, the journey will coil its way through seventeen cities coming to a close April 23rd, 2015 in Millvale, Pennsylvania.

"We are beyond thrilled to be going on tour with Mountain Goats this Spring," IDES OF GEMINI guitarist J. Bennett says. CASTLE RELEASE NEW MUSIC VIDEO FOR "A KILLING PACE"

"A Killing Pace", the new video from San Francisco doom-tinged heavy metal trio CASTLE, can be seen below. The clip was directed by Jaan Silmberg for Toronto-based Pistoltrixx.



"A Killing Pace" is taken from the bands third album “Under Siege” – which was produced by Billy Anderson (Cathedral, Sleep, Neurosis) and described by Terrorizer as "marrying doom laden riffery to a gloriously no-bullshit heavy metal backbone".

CASTLE guitarist and songwriter Mat Davis stated about the new music video, "We wanted to dial in the brooding intensity of the song with claustrophobic images and make it play visually like a haunted roller-coaster ride to the psyche".

KARMA TO BURN: ANNOUNCE 2015 NORTH AMERICAN TOUR DATES, NEW ALBUM

West Virginia instrumental stoner rock legends, KARMA TO BURN, will bring their bong-ripping riffery and glassy-eyed grooves to the stage next month on a mammoth live expedition. Scheduled to launch on January 7th, 2015 in Ohio, the band will crumble thirty-three stages across the US and Canada, coming to a close in their home state on February 13th, 2015. EYEHATEGOD ANNOUNCES AUTUMN TOUR DATES

Louisiana sludge legends, EYEHATEGOD, have announced their next run of live dates this Autumn. The band's latest itinerary includes a short run of one-off dates in Denver, Orlando and Miami as well as an appearance at Philip H. Anselmo's Housecore Horror Film Festival in Austin. From there, team EYEHATEGOD will head west razing stages alongside Power Trip, Iron Reagan and Today Is The Day on select dates.

YOB'S NEW ALBUM OUT TODAY, VINYL ON THE 16TH

Neurot Recordings have released the CD version of YOB's new album 'Clearing The Path To Ascend' today but for you vinyl freaks out there, Relapse Records is releasing it September 16th.

"This part of the album gets dark, but it also has a sense of beauty and resolve," said Scheidt of the track "Unmask The Spectre," furthering that, "the mood and atmosphere nod equal parts to old and new YOB... It's one of my favorite things we've ever done." Hear for yourself below...

ALL THEM WITCHES RELEASE NEW VIDEO FOR "WHEN GOD COMES BACK"

Nashville's bluesy psych band ALL THE WITCHES unveiled their video today for "When God Comes Back". The track is off their forthcoming album release, "Lighting At The Door" out Sept 16.

The young band recorded the album in just a few days but the result is gritty, southern psych rock gem. “We tracked everything live in the same room,” explains singer/bass player Michael Parks, Jr.  “We got a lot of bleed form the mics and the amps being together.  Everything felt organic.”

WOLF BLOOD'S DEBUT SEES VINYL RELEASE IN OCTOBER

Minnesota newcomers, WOLF BLOOD will release their self-titled debut album on vinyl October 1st via Burning World Records. The album was previously available only on cassette direct from the band.

Formed in a dank basement during the infamous 2012 Duluth, Minnesota flood, guitarist Mike Messina and drummer Jake Paulsrud (Dad's Acid) started writing psycho-sludge experiments that sounded too stoned to be metal, and too baneful to be indie-rock. They recruited renown hard-core guitar sorceress Mindy Johnson (The Keep Aways) and magi-roots bassist Brian Wells to flesh-out their menacing sound.

The band has also been hand picked as openers for the legendary SLEEP’s sold out show in Philadelphia on August 26th. 2014 has already seen the band traverse North America and Europe with Relapse label-mates Inter Arma and Indian including appearances at SXSW, Maryland Deathfest, and Roadburn. STONEBURNER ANNOUNCE TOUR DATES

Portland doom bringers, STONEBURNER, will kick off a short run of West Coast live rituals beginning today on their home turf at Mississippi Studios. From there the band will trample through five more cities in California and Oregon alongside progressive metalists, Burials. Additionally, team STONEBURNER will make an appearance at Festicide next month. The three-day event takes places in venues throughout the Portland area in an effort to celebrate P-Town's deep-rooted DIY culture with an emphasis on punk, metal, and extreme music. Festicide shows are five bucks or totally free!

MIST Ready for Festivals

Slovenian all-female doom metal band MIST is ending its highly successful concert season this summer at the unofficial MetalDays Warmup gig which will be held on 19th and 20th July at Club Bugatti in Tolmin, Slovenia.

After a well deserved summer break, the girls will hit the road again in autumn, including the Malta Doom Metal Festival and the renowned Hammer Of Doom Festival in Würzburg, Germany, also featuring some great acts, such as Saint Vitus, Trouble, Kadavar, Orange Goblin, Avatarium, Mount Salem, Jess And The Ancient Ones, and many others.

MIST released their first demo recordings simply entitled "Demo 2013" last year in November, which was re-issued on CD for the third time due to great interest. "Demo 2013" is still available as a name-your-price download on their Bandcamp page.

YOB: Oregon Doomsmiths Post Video Teaser; US Tour Dates Announced

Oregon doomsmiths, YOB, will released their long-awaited full-length, the aptly titled Clearing The Path To Ascend, via Neurot Recordings this Fall. Recorded at Gung Ho Studio in Eugene, notorious for its reserve of vintage equipment, alongside longtime collaborator/iconic sound-sage Billy Barnett, and mastered by Brad Boatright (Sleep, Beastmilk, Nails) at Audiosiege Engineering, Clearing The Path To Ascend is undoubtedly the crowning achievement for a band whose journey now nears two decades of creating music as commanding as it is cathartic. As is the YOB way, the tracks here don't simply offer a vacuous glimpse into the already riff-soaked doom genre. These songs demand the tandem attention of mind, body, and soul - etching a mark across a sound that finds YOB as formidable and unequaled as they've ever been. The path to ascend is clearly an arduous one, fraught with the peril of mediocrity. Thankfully, YOB pummels that path, climbing upward into a realm that sets the band in a heavy metal place that has been and will always remain wholly their own.

As a precursor to the release, YOB is offering up a second Clearing The Path To Ascend video teaser. Produced by William F. Haldane of Solder House, the near four-minute video details the writing process, concept and emotional journey that embodies the record as a whole.
